For my 3rd inhale task, I decided to watch a Ted Talk recommended by Mr. Law called What Makes a Good Life? Lessons from the Longest Study on Happiness. As I watched the Ted Talk, I wrote about what I understood from the video and paraphrased a few quotes that supported the text. Next, I annotated my notes by connecting my notes with other philosophies that I knew of. I also studied the structure of the Ted Talk and common idioms used during the video. For my exhale, I created an infographic that concisely higlights the main details of the video. But before I started, I researched ancient philosophers who also shared the same question highlighted in the video – What makes a good life? After doing my research, I realized that this has been a question that has reoccured to people such as Socrates and Plato for millennium. But what’s interesting is the fact that the key to having a good life is simply just wisdom as old as the hills, but often forgotten in our lives.
